View Full Version : EGT Amp and AutoMeter FP Gauge ?

Dont think where I have my aux input mounted, I will have enough probe wire length to reach. Can I lengthen the wire on the EGT amp where it would connect to the aux input ????
I have an Autometer Electric FP gauge, and was wondering if there would be a way to log that ? I cant seem to find the pinouts for the sender(or what color wire does what for that matter)..Any thoughts ??? Thanks

yes you can

ok..cool...that makes life easier...
How would I go about testing the wiring on the FP sender ?? There is a plug on the sending unit that I can remove. Use a DVM to test for voltage on one of the wires(think it might be purple)?? It appears that the sender is similar to what John Spina sells on his site as a "pressure transducer" with ground, 12v power and signal pins

OK...Finally was able to track down contact at AM's web site...From a tech support person:
Purple Wire on sender:
0.5v = 0 psi and
4.5v = 100 psi.
It is a linear scale. So its correct voltage for the aux inputs. Is there a way to get logger to show either Input 4 or 5 as PSI based on the above voltage/psi conversion ? :D
EDIT: I talked to a programmer buddy of mine today...He said you folks would have to add that particular feature to the program itself, unless there is a spot in the ini file that can be modified to do the conversion.... Is that something that can be done ????

Ack! TT..accidentally edited post instead of new one..

It can be done, the problem is when to do it. Bob is the code guy on this and he would have to fit it in his already over taxed timetable. I will bring it to his attention,

Yeah, I figured that Mike...I'm sure Bob is going nuts about now...Was more interested in IF at this point(since my car sits in the cold garage most of the time...hahahahahaha) rather than the when...Thanks for letting him now about it!!!

I'm interested in that conversion also, we'll wait.

It can happen, watch for it in future updates

Ask and you shall receive.
Thanks Bob, great product. With the automatic updates, it makes tossing my DS to the side, a no-brainer.
