A little background is in order;

The other day, when I engaged the cruise control, I noticed the light come on, but it still didn't seem to be working. http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/img/smilies/mad.gif

Later that day, it still wasn't working, and I also needed to run the A/C....
Well, it blew cold, but it was all coming out the floor vents and not the dash vents. http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/img/smilies/mad.gif

After mulling this around in my "pea" brain for a while, I decided the only thing these two broken things had in common was vacuum controls. So I decided to track down the vacuum lines. There's two of them leading into the cabin. Tracing them back from the firewall, one goes to an easy point on the passenger side of the intake to a vacuum fitting there (nothing wrong so far). The other one runs behind the coil pack and plugs into a sort of vacuum T looking thing that might also be a check valve of sorts. I picked the line that feeds this "thing" and it goes to another vacuum "T" right under the EGR valve http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/img/smilies/eek.gif and is situated about 2" aft of a check valve and vacuum source.

Right there at that T, the vacuum hose had rotted open completely, so the passenger cabin had one of it's sources of vacuum missing, and the other branch of that "thing" by the coil pack just happens to run over to the cruise control.

In short, cant get any control of where the air blows in the cabin? check the vacuum sources. http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/img/smilies/redface.gif
