New Install -- Odd Idle

So I finally finished the install of my maftpro today, and in the end I've got one outstanding issue. When idling the car the engine revs up and down between 700 - 1200 and generally runs poorly.

The really odd thing is that when I set Main Scale to +50 the car idles GREAT. But +50 just seems way too high for comfort. Any help would be appreciated. Point me in the right dirrection please.

Looks like the map sensor is a little off. Should be 98-100 key on engine off.

Do you have a wideband o2 sensor? Whats afr's saying?

(edit) I see you don't have a wideband.

No WB02, just the NB. When running without the Main Scale set to +50 the NB02 reads 120 or so and doesn't move more than +/- 8 which is what concerns me. When I set it to +50 it runs great....

I'll probably be ordering a WB02 in a few weeks. This is turning into the never ending install.

Not sure what to think about that low MAP sensor reading. Like I said, we're only about 500 feet above sea level here, it should read about 100 :confused:

There were some bad map sensors floating around. I have one sitting here too. Where did you get yours from?

Don't let the mainscale number get to you. Put it where it runs OK then let it get into closed loop. Once in closed loop, see what the blm's are doing. You should be able to get it to run decent even with the low map sensor reading.

Ultimately, look into another map sensor.

I ordered the MAP sensor from Mike when I got the maftpro. I hope it isn't bad. I'm gonna double check the connections, just to be sure.

Good to hear about the mainscale. I'm still finding my way around this device, so I just wanted to be certain that it was alright set that high. Thanks for the reassurance.

The map sensor running low will throw off the fueling. Thats why I say don't worrie about the high mainscale # so much. After you get a new map sensor, I'm thinking the tuning will change and should help bring the number down.

What version is in your tpro? It flashes on the display when you power it up.
